The Master of Science in Economics Program gives much emphasis to the study of the socio-cultural factors which influence economic activity and development.
The Master of Science in Economics Program of ASI is designed especially for those who wish to involve themselves with policies, and the planning and the implementations of the programs which aim primarily at the amelioration of economically backward communities and regions. Much emphasis is given to the study of the socio-cultural factors which influence economic activity and development.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Thus, its objectives, among others, are to enable the students to:
- have mastery of theories, tools of analysis, the philosophy and processes of the economy and the economic behavior of human beings;
- be grounded on culture through a deeper and integrated understanding of the existing socio-cultural factors that have complex ramifications with regards to the economy and economic behavior of human beings;
- have a holistic understanding of phenomena and perceptions that may have an influence on the economic organization and behavior of a community and country, in particular, and the world, in general; and,
- be creative in designing appropriate pioneering or innovative alternative tools, processes and philosophy of amelioration towards the realization of the “ECSOM” and eventually, of the Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation.
