Filipino Student Applicants
Doctoral Program
The Program is open to holders of a Master’s degree or its equivalent from a university or college of recognized standing, with at least five years experience in development work or employment in a responsible position in an educational institute or a development agency. The applicant must submit the following documents:

- Application letter addressed to the chairperson of the Admissions Committee
- Transcript of records of Masteral Degree
- Personal History Data
- Passport-size Photograph
- Letter of endorsement from employer(s) and/or previous professor(s).
Graduate Program
- For all graduate programs, the appropriate undergraduate degree
- At least 2-3 years experience in human and social development
- Leadership potential
- Capacity for independent study
- Must undergo an interview with the Section Head
- Must pass the entrance examination
- Documents to be submitted:
- Formal letter of application
- Two copies ASI Form No. 6 (Application Form)
- Official transcript of record: Original Copy with Special Order (S.O.)
- Honorable dismissal from the last school attended
- Two letters of recommendation from the agency or organization the applicant is connected with
- Autobiography
- 2 passport-size ID picture
Bachelor of Science in Social Work (Specialized Course)
- Completion of a 4-year degree course
- Documents to be submitted: same requirements as those of the graduate program
- Must pass the entrance examination
Foreign Student Applicants
- Same as those for Filipino applicants in the graduate and specialized BSSW course.
- Documents to be submitted for the issuance of a student visa (9f)
Notice of Acceptance (NOA) from the school containing a clear impression of the school’s official seal, addressed to:
— Student
— The Director, Visa Division-Office of Consular Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs - Six (6) copies of the 1998 Revised Original Personal History Statement (PHS), duly accomplished and signed by the applicant in English and in national alphabet, accompanied by personal seal, if any, original left and right hand prints on PHS and original photos.
- Transcript of records/Scholastic records duly authenticated by the Philippine Embassy or Consulate in the applicant’s country of origin or legal residence. “SEEN and NOTED” stamp is not acceptable;
- A notarized Affidavit of Support and proof of adequate financial support to cover expenses for student’s accommodation and subsistence, school dues and other incidental expenses;
- Photocopy of Passport pages where name, photo, birth date and birthplace appear. In addition to the documents submitted to the DFA, the student shall submit the following requirements to the Consular Officer at the Philippine Foreign Service Post upon notice of interview:
— ORIGINAL copy of the school’s Notice of Acceptance (NOA) containing a clear impression of the school’s dry seal, addressed to the student;
— Police Clearance issued by the national police authorities in the student’s country of origin or legal residence, authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post having consular jurisdiction over the place; and
— Medical Health Certificate issued by an authorized physician including standard-size chest x-ray. Upon arrival in the Philippines, a foreign student with a student visa (9f) marked on his/her passport is advised to secure his/her Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) and Certificate of Residence for Temporary Students (CRTS) at the Bureau of Immigration (BI), Intramuros, Manila.
